Man Sentenced in Attempted Abduction of 9-Year-Old at Lakewood Grocery Store

GOLDEN, Colo. (Mar. 17, 2026) – Bradley Wilson has been sentenced to six years in the Department of Corrections, followed by a mandatory three-year term of parole, after pleading guilty in the attempted abduction of a nine-year-old girl at a Lakewood grocery store in June 2025.

Grand Jury Returns a Two-Count Indictment in the Jax Gratton Death Investigation

GOLDEN, Colo. (Mar. 11, 2026) – District Attorney Alexis King has announced that the Grand Jury for Jefferson and Gilpin counties has returned a two-count indictment against Brandon David Mumma in the death investigation of thirty-four-year-old Denver resident Jax Gratton. Mumma, who is believed to be the last known individual to be with Gratton, faces one count of Tampering with a Deceased Human Body (F3) and Tampering with Evidence (F6).

Former High School Campus Security Supervisor Sentenced

GOLDEN, Colo. (Mar. 9, 2026) – Today, Rubel Tim Martinez was sentenced to an indeterminate term of imprisonment of at least 18 years and up to life in the Department of Corrections. The Court also imposed an indeterminate period of parole of at least 20 years and up to life, pursuant to C.R.S. 18-1.3-1004(2)(a).

Former Park Ranger Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced

GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 23, 2026) – Callum Heskett pleaded guilty and was sentenced today to three years of supervised probation and ordered to pay at least $16,700 in restitution for falsely reporting a stabbing that prompted a large-scale law enforcement response and manhunt in August 2025.

Daniel Clark Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced in Tampering Case

GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 13, 2026) – Daniel Ryan Clark was sentenced this week to ten years in the Colorado Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Tampering with a Deceased Human Body. The parties stipulated to the ten-year sentence. By statute, the offense carries a sentencing range of four to twelve years in prison.

Laura Prats Sentenced for the Death of Sheryl Seitz

GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 5, 2026) – Today, Laura Prats was sentenced to eleven years in the Department of Corrections for her role in the death of fifty-eight-year-old Sheryl Seitz. Prats previously pleaded guilty to Negligent Death of an At-Risk Person. Her co-defendant, Brian Seitz, was sentenced to ten years in prison in December of last year.

Second Juvenile Sentenced in Fatal 2022 Lakewood Apartment Fire

GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 3, 2026) – Last week, the second juvenile responsible for the 2022 fire at the Tiffany Square Apartments in Lakewood, which killed two people and injured many others, pled guilty and was sentenced to the maximum sentence of seven years in the Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Youth Services (DYS), bringing a lengthy court process to a close.
