GOLDEN, Colo. (Jul. 7, 2026) – Today, First Judicial District Court Judge Russell Klein sentenced Brent John Metz, 40, to four years of probation, 90 days work release, and 120 hours of useful public service. Additionally, under Colorado law, Mr. Metz cannot own or possess firearms.

GOLDEN, Colo. (July 1, 2026) – The First Judicial District Attorney's Office has charged Menashe Evro, 28, with 13 criminal counts, including felony theft and criminal exploitation charges, following a months-long investigation into allegations that he stole from and financially exploited multiple people through his locksmith business. The charges involve seven alleged victims, including several at-risk persons between the ages of 76 and 91.

Lakewood Assisted Living Employee Charged with Negligence Causing Bodily Injury to Two Elderly Residents

GOLDEN, Colo. (July 1, 2026) — Ashley Ann Garcia, 35, a former caregiver at a Rocky Mountain Assisted Living Facility (RMALF), has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate incidents that allegedly involved neglect and resulted in bodily injury to two elderly residents. Garcia worked at the Lakewood Memory Care location on Saulsbury Street as a Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP), responsible for administering medication and providing caretaking support.

Former CBI Lab Analyst Missy Woods Pleads Guilty

GOLDEN, Colo. (Jun. 23, 2026) – Today, Yvonne “Missy” Woods entered a guilty plea to four felony charges stemming from criminal conduct committed between 2008 and 2023, during her career as a Forensic Laboratory Scientist at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Under the terms of the plea agreement, the parties stipulated to a mandatory Department of Corrections sentence ranging from eight to sixteen years.

Jefferson County District Court Judge Diego G. Hunt on Thursday sentenced James Michael Chevrier to a term of at least 5 years in the Department of Corrections following his conviction for Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust. Chevrier was also convicted at trial of drug related charges and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
