GOLDEN, Colo. (Aug. 12, 2026) –The First Judicial District Attorney's Office has charged Cynthia Ann Monroe, 60, with two criminal counts, including felony assault and misdemeanor child abuse of a developmentally disabled student at Ute Meadows Elementary School in Littleton.

GOLDEN, Colo. (Aug. 11, 2026) – Jefferson County District Court Judge Phillip McNulty sentenced Benjamin Isaiah Lovato, 20, to 32 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections for a violent attack on his former girlfriend during a home invasion in March 2024.

GOLDEN, Colo. (August 5, 2026) – On Wednesday, the First Judicial District Attorney's Office filed charges against Steven Cole Simpson, 25, and Corryn Simpson, 26, in connection with an alleged road rage shooting that killed Andrew Luke Bott, 23, in unincorporated Jefferson County.

GOLDEN, Colo. (July 27, 2026) --The First Judicial District Attorney's Office has filed two felony theft charges against Ulises Tajonar Diaz, 32, alleging he received more than $32,000 in deposits from two Jefferson County homeowners for landscaping projects that were never started. Diaz advertised and operated landscaping businesses across the metro area under the names My Son’s Landscape and My Son’s Landscape Group LLC.

GOLDEN, Colo. (Jul. 7, 2026) – Today, First Judicial District Court Judge Russell Klein sentenced Brent John Metz, 40, to four years of probation, 90 days work release, and 120 hours of useful public service. Additionally, under Colorado law, Mr. Metz cannot own or possess firearms.

GOLDEN, Colo. (July 1, 2026) – The First Judicial District Attorney's Office has charged Menashe Evro, 28, with 13 criminal counts, including felony theft and criminal exploitation charges, following a months-long investigation into allegations that he stole from and financially exploited multiple people through his locksmith business. The charges involve seven alleged victims, including several at-risk persons between the ages of 76 and 91.

GOLDEN, Colo. (July 1, 2026) — Ashley Ann Garcia, 35, a former caregiver at a Rocky Mountain Assisted Living Facility (RMALF), has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate incidents that allegedly involved neglect and resulted in bodily injury to two elderly residents. Garcia worked at the Lakewood Memory Care location on Saulsbury Street as a Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP), responsible for administering medication and providing caretaking support.

GOLDEN, Colo. (June 26, 2026) – Last week, First Judicial District Court Judge Ryan Loewer sentenced James Albert Maestas, 41, to 30 years to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections for the sexual assault and robbery of an employee at a Westminster business in 2025.

GOLDEN, Colo. (Jun. 23, 2026) – Today, Yvonne “Missy” Woods entered a guilty plea to four felony charges stemming from criminal conduct committed between 2008 and 2023, during her career as a Forensic Laboratory Scientist at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Under the terms of the plea agreement, the parties stipulated to a mandatory Department of Corrections sentence ranging from eight to sixteen years.
