About Us
The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office is composed of over 180 attorneys, victim witness specialists, investigators and support staff who serve the people of Gilpin and Jefferson counties. We are committed to creating safer and healthier communities for all through community partnership, alternatives to prosecution, transparency and equity.
After spending a decade as a Deputy District Attorney for the people of Gilpin and Jefferson counties, it is now my greatest honor to serve as the elected District Attorney for our community.
District Attorney Alexis King
Alexis King became the first woman in history to be elected District Attorney for Colorado’s First Judicial District in November 2020 and took office in January 2021.
